Welcome to the Resource Page. Here, I hope to provide you with resources that will help you go deeper in God. Number 1 is time in prayer and the word. God is calling us to time away with Him. He is looking for people who would be a voice and not an echo to this generation. To that end, we must be listeners and gazers. However, I also plan to post here links to books, prophetic words or messages and inspiration I might find online that would help us in that journey.
AW Tozer’s Knowledge of the Holy
My first suggested resource would have to be AW Tozer’s book, “Knowledge of the Holy”. Published in 1961, I know of no other work that captures the reader and releases him or her, into the depths of the knowledge of God. In speaking of the Lord, AW Tozer speaks of who He is, His divine attributes, His fundamental nature. Not that we can understand Him, but we can be in awe and wonder of Him.
Let me give you a piece of advice. If you are like my kids, you might be tempted to read this book while listening to your music, having the TV on and snap chatting with your friends. Don’t try it! Sometimes God will speak to you concerning Himself only when He knows He has your complete attention. Don’t get me wrong. I talk to God on the go all the time. And He speaks to me during the day as well. But I believe He often reserves the deepest truths for the hungry and diligent heart that is quietly listening.
The first time I read a chapter in Knowledge of the Holy, I didn’t get it. No impact. I read it again. Same thing. I tried another chapter. Similar results. But I kept trying, and then it happened. I was sitting there, reading the words and the revelation of who He is began to unfold. The awesome, uncreated, everlasting to everlasting. The unchanging One. AW Tozer is gifted in gazing at the unexplainable God, acknowledging that He is totally unexplainable and then using that very fact to increase our understanding of who He is.
